Quiet Moments: Listening for God's Voice
Prayer is a two-way conversation. This space is dedicated to helping you quiet the noise and cultivate a heart that listens for the gentle whispers of God.

Cultivating a Listening Heart

Instead of filling prayer with only our requests, let's also make space to hear from God. He desires to guide us, comfort us, and reveal His heart to us. Listening prayer is about positioning ourselves to receive.

  • Find a quiet space where you can be undisturbed.
  • Take a few deep breaths to calm your mind and body.
  • Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and open your heart.
  • Ask God a gentle question, or simply sit in His presence with an open heart.
  • Listen patiently. Thoughts, impressions, or scriptures may come to mind. Don't force it.
  • Journal any insights, feelings, or scriptures that resonate with you.

Scripture for Reflection

"Be still, and know that I am God."

- Psalm 46:10

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."

- John 10:27

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."

- Jeremiah 33:3

"Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening."

- 1 Samuel 3:9

A Gentle Reminder

Hearing God's voice is often a subtle experience. It's less about audible words and more about impressions on your heart, a sense of peace or conviction, or Scripture coming alive in new ways. Be patient with yourself and the process.
